I survived the first full week!

I have officially survived my first full week of being full time! I think it is something I will adjust to. The hardest time of the day is at 1pm though, after I eat lunch, especially when it is so sunny and beautiful outside like it is today. I just want to be outside rollerblading or jogging. So is the life of an adult though... I guess.

This week has gone by quickly. Luckily Seth worked only days this week and we were able to see each other in the evenings. He even convinced me to come to his soccer game on Tuesday, in Elkhart, at 10pm. Yes, that is 10 o'clock at night. You can usually count on my being asleep by 10 or soon after. I really wasn't planning on going until Seth and Joel tricked me. They told me that if I went they would play Egyptian Rat Trap with me. They know my weaknesses... I can never turn down a chance to humiliate them with my quick thinking and cat-like reflexes! Needless to say I was again victorious!

I am looking forward to this weekend. I have a prospective tennis player visiting Goshen College tomorrow that I am going to meet with in the morning, but other than that the whole weekend is wide open! I plan on relaxing. Sleeping in, reading a book, and maybe watching a good, scary Halloween movie!

Sarah update

Seth has been [patiently reminding me to post] because I never post anything on our blog... so I thought I would try and make him happy this afternoon! My life has taken a change of pace over the last few weeks. Tennis is done, which has really freed up my evenings, but I have started being full time at Bethany, meaning I spend all day at the school, in my office. After two full days, I have decided that I need to find activities to get me out of my office, otherwise I will go crazy. I don't do well to sit for extended amounts of time. I have decided to visit classes and I sat in on Eileen's sophomore english class this afternoon. For those of you who had Eileen in high school, today was vocab day! They were learning new roots, like caust, schizo, rrhea, sopho, glos, etc. Remember when we learned all those! We had to know the meaning and be able to give examples. It took me back a few years!

Last weekend was parent teacher conferences at Bethany, so I had an extended weekend. Seth and I decided to take advantage of my time off from work and we took a quick trip to Indy. We stayed two night and spent the days relaxing. We went to Keystone mall one afternoon, ate meals out, watched movies, slept in late, walked around a pet store, all those wonderful lazy things... it was great! We also were able to meet up with Christie on the way home in Anderson. We met her and her new boyfriend for lunch at Red Lobster. It was so great to see her! I miss not having any really close girl friends in Goshen. I'm still trying to get her to move home!

Seth has another soccer game tonight. Their first game went pretty well last week. They thought they would get killed, but only lost 3-8. He, and everyone else on the team, realized how out of shape they are, so Seth has been jogging a few times this last week! I couldn't believe it! We even went jogging together, which was a small miracle. I could never get him to do stuff like that with me because he didn't see the point in running for the sake of running. Now he has a purpose though!

Lunch Soccer

The image “http://www.livesoccertv.com/images/soccer6.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.Well, Joel came home last weekend and happened to mention the same thing I have been thinking for the past two weeks or so. "Wouldn't it be fun to have an indoor soccer team with our friends on it?" Heck yeah it would! I always dreamt of creating an indoor soccer team of my friends. I would actually sit in some of my high school classes making lineups and strategies (while paying attention to the teacher...of course).

Joel mentioned he would be interested, so with his help, I rounded up our friends and people actually said they wanted to do it! The deadline for turning in the registration was the day after Joel mentioned it, but they gave us a few extra days to get it around. So it seems that I may have finally fulfilled my dream of making an indoor soccer team with my small group of friends that used to play soccer during lunch. The only part of the LG we will be missing with be Jon. We miss you Jon!

Now...it is very important to note that for most of these friends the only time they have played soccer was during lunch. ...so...yeah, we don't really plan on winning. We will consider it a victory if we can score a few points this season.

So, if anyone reading this blog (that knows me in real life) wants to join a soccer team that is going to be 100% for fun...please let me know!

Seth

*Edit Update* Yikes! Actually, nearly every I called said they could play, so we don't need any more people.

Tennis Tourney Time!

Well, Sarah will be gone the next two nights with the Goshen tennis team. I am going to miss her, but I am also going to stay pretty busy with work...so it should go pretty fast. Although Sarah really enjoyed tennis, we will also be relieved to see the season end. We will have more time in the evening for friends, family, and eachother. Hopfully we will be able to find a church family sometime soon, now that our lives are settling down a little more.

Joel is moving back this weekend, so that is something that I am looking forward to.

Last week Dad pulled his back, so Josh Miller played in the tennis league with me. It was a lot of fun, but I will be looking forward to playing with Dad again next weekend. We have to try to keep our streak alive!

VAWA

Check out this video and please, please...if you have the ability to contact a government agency, let them know how damaging the VAWA is. At least push for gender neutrality, please.

Click here to see a local news report on the VAWA.

Seth

*Edit* Actually....it appears that it is to late for this round. As of today, October 5th, the VAWA has been passes unanimously in the senate. This just shows how blind our current government (and society) are to the travesty of domestic violence.

If you can't see the video on the above link, click below and go down the list to "VAWA Expires."
