Christmas 2005

Well, Christmas is now past (for the most part). We have received and given our gifts with our immediate family, and are now getting ready to head out to PA to see my Dad's extended family. I am looking forward with great anticipation to seeing Joy, Phill, and my other cousins and Aunts and Uncles. It will just be a brief trip, but it will still be great to see everyone. I am working a very short shift tonight, and then we are leaving early tomorrow morning so we will make it in time for the gift exchange.

I have posted some pictures below. The selection I had was limited, as Sarah and I are still trying to get into the habit of taking pictures. Hopefully we will receive more from family and friends so I can share some of the better ones on here.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday. Through all of the hustle and bustle, remember to focus on the most amazing gift we have ever received.

Here I am showing off some of my new gifts....now, if only I could play tennis outside in the winter!

Dad is amazing me with his new magic trick.

Sarah sporting her new top and sweatpants that my parents bought her.

Mom is holding Sue and Greg's newly adopted baby. Doesn't she seriously look just like a doll??

This was an angel Tim picked out for everyone. Sarah loves it and it is now sitting right beside our television.

Charlie and Lois were able to be with us for lunch on Christmas!

Marisa showing off her new earrings!

Pandora

Just thought I would recommend the following site to everybody.

http://www.pandora.com/

You tell it what kind of music you like, and it will make a radio station for you. No commercials as of right now. I am really impressed with it. Very accurate.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This morning started out with a 2-hour snow delay, followed by school being cancelled all together. I was faced with a dilemma. Do I take today off and come in during the make up day in February? Or do I come in today for a shortenedThe image “http://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/book/snowflake1.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. day and take the day off in February? I opted for the delayed gratification. Supposedly this is a middle class characteristic. The truth is that if I had taken today off I would have spent the whole day thinking, “Now I have to come in and work in February.” I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the day off. I hate when that happens.

We had so much snow last night. I shoveled around 5pm and we had gotten close to 3 inches in 2 hours. Seth and I ate dinner with my parents and when we came back around 8pm we easily had another 3 inches. You couldn’t even tell that I had spent an hour shoveling the driveway!

The two-hour delay this morning gave Seth and me some extra time. We sat down together and had breakfast. I made French toast and fried sausage. With our differing schedules we rarely have chance to see each other in the morning. It was a nice change of pace.

coming soon...Christmas Break!

I love my office window at Bethany! I have a perfect view of the winter wonderland outside. The first few snowfalls are always exciting! I know in a few weeks I will be sick of it and ready for warmer weather, but for right now it is making me smile. The image “http://www.scifimoviepage.com/upcoming/photos/harry4-4.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

"Busy" has been the keyword of our lives. It seems like we have something going on every evening. Tennis, Soccer, Volleyball, coaching meetings, Christmas dinners, family. Seth was starting to think about forming a flag football team after all the fun he had at Joel's house during the post-Thanksgiving football game. I told him he was crazy. We don't need one more thing going on.

I am looking forward to my Christmas break coming up in a week and a half. I get 20 days off from work! I am planning on sleeping in, staying up late, scrapbooking, reading, seeing the new Harry Potter, and just relaxing. There are definitly benefits to working at a school:
- Christmas Break
- Thanksgiving Break
- Spring Break
- Intertem
- Weather delays and cancelations
Just to name a few!
